The Ecology, Cosmos and Consciousness Lecture Series Presents: The Mayan Prophecy, Timewave Zero and 2012… The Great Debate

With the end of the 13th b’ak’tun just around the corner on 21st December 2012 – the most anticipated winter solstice this side of the eschaton – our Ecology, Cosmos and Consciousness awaits some kind of immanent shift… or so they say. Well at least everyone from John Major Jenkins and José Argüelles to Terence Mckenna and Daniel Pinchbeck have said it. So at this eleventh hour what, exactly, is timewave zero and the Mayan prophecy, and what awaits us in December as we head beyond the Mayan event horizon? Assembled together for this unique debate are four 2012 discussants with varying perspectives.

Daniel Pinchbeck (provisional, by Skype)is the author of several books including Breaking Open the Head and 2012: Return of Quetzalcoatl, and is the founder of Reality Sandwich website and co-founder of the Evolver network.

Dr Andy Letcher is a freelance writer, folk musician and lecturer in the Study of Religion. He is the author of the critically acclaimed Shroom: A Cultural History of the Magic Mushroom.

Gyrus is an independent publisher, free-range scholar, and freelance web developer. In the 1990s he edited and published the journal Towards 2012, and has since edited Dreamflesh journal and written Archaeologies of Consciousness.

Dr. Cameron Adams is a medical and ecological anthropologist who has studied Mayan culture, psychedelic medicine and ecological consciousness and was co-founder of Breaking Convention: A Multidisciplinary Conference on Psychedelic Consciousness.

For anyone interested in finding out more about the real story behind the 2012 Mayan Prophesy check out this website

It’s from Guatemala and written by an expert on Mayan cosmovision. It’s really interesting (and it’s not the end of the world!)

Here’s the link again in case that one doesn’t work (excuse my technical stupidity!)
